Over the last 15 years of business, we have worked on a variety of projects. Click on the titles below to find out about a few of our accomplishments.
Hayward & Richmond Train Yards
We provided electrical, communication, and general labor for transit communication system repair. The contract for the Hayward Train Control Emergency Restoration was for a period of three months in 2008. The contract for the Richmond Train Yard was a train control project of about two weeks in length in 2009.
BART Transit Stations and Tunnels, and Outdoor Cell Site Locations
Sprint is the project lead for combined telecommunication companies, including AT&T, Sprint/Nextel, Metro PCS, T-Mobile and Verizon. Forza Telecom has been the project management company for much of the work. The project includes installing electrical, radio equipment, RF cabling and antennas, fiber, and grounding throughout the tunnel system and includes concrete and steel fabrication for outdoor locations. The project lasted approximately four to five months in 2007, nine months in 2009 and more than three months in 2010. The project will continue for another year or two, and different phases of the project are completed and the next phase started.
University of California, Berkeley
This project started in 2013 with the installation of the Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) for the California Memorial Stadium and has morphed into the head end room and several cell site locations around the Berkeley campus. TEPS has become the preferred telecommunications general contractor for the University of California, Berkeley.
Cam-Lok Project
For the first six months in 2013, TEPS serviced 656 AT&T sites from San Jose to Truckee, CA, to complete the AT&T Cam-Lok project. The Cam-Lok project was implemented by AT&T to standardize emergency power hookups throughout the AT&T Mobility system. Standardized hookups ensure proper connections and facilitate rapid response times, thereby minimizing down time. Locations were situated in such diverse areas as downtown rooftops, small rooms in office buildings, parking garages, mountaintop sites above the snow line, pastures, public parks and schools. Working closely with AT&T, we arranged access to sites requiring up to 6 weeks advance notice.
Battery Project
As part of the AT&T Battery Project in 2013, TEPS serviced 716 AT&T sites throughout Northern California. We updated the backup power on sites from San Francisco to Kirkwood to Visalia. These robust battery systems allow the site to remain on air up to 8 hours during a commercial power outage. Locations were situated in diverse areas such as downtown rooftop sites in major metropolitan areas, back rooms in office buildings, public parking garages, mountaintop sites above the snow line, wide open pastures, public paks, and public schools. TEPS worked with AT&T Property Management in gaining access to the more difficult and challenging locations, some requiring up to 6 weeks advance notice.
